Why This Trade Would Benefit The Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz is another team that is a postseason contender in the Western Conference. They were eliminated in seven games by the Denver Nuggets during the restart. They have proven stars in Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert locked up for the future.
While Mike Conley is off to his hot start, the Jazz could take advantage and use it as value in their own way. He is in the final year of his contract that will pay him $34.5 million this season. The Jazz will likely not be re-signing Conley to an extension which means they should send him away in a deal if they can.
It would also be a salary dump for them. This trade would work for Utah in many ways. They would continue to surround Mitchell with shooters like Hardaway Jr. and give them a backup point guard behind Mitchell in Brunson.
Utah is looking to be one of the top teams in the Western Conference once again. They can do this by building a core that will stay together for the future and gel overtime.
