This Magic-Nets trade would help Brooklyn replace Spencer Dinwiddie

Why This Trade Would Benefit The Orlando Magic

Despite their recent playoff berths, the Orlando Magic have been in limbo with the state of their franchise. They have gone up against top seeds in each playoff series— leaving them with little to no chance of advancing. It is time to think about selling some players for younger prospects and NBA Draft capital.

If the Magic were to make this deal, they would get a first-round pick that is likely going to be low in the NBA Draft. That should not matter to them because they could still land a first-round prospect or package picks together in another trade for a star.

Nikola Vucevic has quietly turned into one of the best and most versatile big men in the NBA. If Markelle Fultz takes the next step, Orlando has a bit of a core to build around, along with Aaron Gordon. They have some flexibility to trade a player if they feel the need.

If that player is Evan Fournier, the return could be hefty. They might even be able to ask for a bit more than they would get in this trade with Brooklyn. NBA Draft picks are important and that should be the focus of any deal involving Fournier.
