Luka Doncic – Dallas Mavericks

Not just James Harden, but every player in the league should want to play with Luka Doncic. Not only is he an extremely unselfish player, but he is going to consistently be one of the top players in the league for the next decade or so.

After winning Rookie of the Year in 2018-19, Doncic evolved into one of the best players in the entire league. Doncic was one of the league’s most improved players a year ago, averaging 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and shooting 46.3% from the floor and finishing fourth in the MVP voting behind Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, and Harden.

He is now one of the favorites to win the 2020-21 MVP award and for good reason. Luka has only played two seasons in the NBA now and not only looks like an established veteran player, but this kid is just simply special.

Very few players in NBA history have the composure Doncic has at such a young age and he has that “killer instinct” out on the court that nobody can stop him. He takes over games all the time and without him, the Mavericks would be a bottom tier team in the league. With him, they have a legit shot to make a run in the playoffs.

This is exactly why James Harden should want to play with Doncic. Harden has had to do everything for the Rockets over the years, but with the Mavericks and Doncic, Harden could not only be a playmaker still, but have a playmaker to play off of.

Doncic is more than capable of still being the best player on the court without having the numbers to back it up. Harden would still ultimately be the leading scorer on a team with Doncic, but it is the little things that Luka does that would improve Harden’s game even more.

The combo of Luka and Harden would be incredibly hard to stop, as they can both create for themselves and open up space for one another on the court. Doncic is a star already at just 21 years old and he is only going to continue getting better, which is why Harden should want to play with him.
