New York Knicks Receive: F Tobias Harris, NYK 2021 2nd Round Pick (via PHI)

Philadelphia 76ers Receive: F Julius Randle, G Frank Ntilikina, G Austin Rivers, NYK 2023 1st Round Pick (Lottery-Protected)

By midseason, if Tobias Harris continues to struggle, the Sixers could very well look for potential trade destinations for him in order to further themselves as a championship contender. Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are the core of this team and outside of them, everyone else is on the table trade wise for the right price.

The Knicks could absolutely nail the right price for Tobias Harris as they not only have the cap room to be able to absorb his big contract, but they have plenty of draft assets and young players to offer to Philadelphia.

Julius Randle struggled early on in his career to find a role in the NBA, but with the Knicks, he has emerged as an all-around playmaker and reliable threat on the offensive end of the court. Last season, Randle played in 64 games for the Knicks, averaging 19.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and shooting 46% from the floor.

In four games this season with New York, Randle has vastly improved his game and is averaging 24.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and shooting 55.6% from the floor. It is early on in the season, but Randle is close to averaging a triple-double every night and has proven his worth not only to the Knicks but potential trade partners around the NBA as well.

Frank Ntilikina is a young french point guard for the Knicks who has not really seen his role increase through the years. Since being drafted 8th overall in 2017, Ntilikina has struggled to solidify himself as a key piece to the Knicks young core and as a result, he could be a player they look to trade at some point this year.

Given his length and athleticism, the 22-year old point guard still has plenty of potential to grow into a solid player for the right team. With Philly, he could end up being an excellent young player off the bench behind Ben Simmons.

With all of this being said, let’s take a closer look as to why this trade would make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks.
