Why the Trade Benefits the Denver Nuggets
Was the Denver Nuggets’ run to the conference finals in the bubble a fluke? Was it a product of the system or was it legitimate? The answers do not matter. The Nuggets come into the 2020-21 NBA season looking to prove that they are indeed one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
The duo of jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic keeps the attack well-balanced on both ends. Murray stepped up during their postseason run while Jokic continued to be one of the most well-rounded bigs in the league.
The NBA has turned into a league that has teams interested in forming big three’s on the court. DeRozan would go a long way in accomplishing this in Denver without having to make a major sacrifice in terms of trade compensation and contract size.
DeRozan has shown early on that he has plenty left in the tank and could be playing for a new contract beyond this season. If that is in Denver, the Nuggets would continue to be contenders for years to come.
DeRozan is a player with plenty of postseason experience and is not afraid of the big moment. He would give Denver another player to worry about for opposing defenses. If they want to keep up with the top teams in the West, they could choose to make a move throughout the season.
