Why the Trade Benefits the Los Angeles Lakers

There are few holes on the Los Angeles Lakers’ roster, if any. They became stronger downlow with the free agent signing of Montrezl Harrel and improved at point guard with Dennis Schroder. If they want to continue, adding a wing would help immensely.

Los Angeles is clearly committed to Kyle Kuzma since they signed him to a three-year extension right before the regular season began. This does not mean that they do not need anymore help. Kuzma has struggled with consistency throughout his career.

Josh Okogie is a player who would be able to contribute important minutes for Los Angeles during crucial parts of games. He has experience starting games and playing a lot of minutes. Okogie also knows how to play off the ball which is important on this Lakers’ team.

The Lakers do not need to make any more deals to win a championship during the 2020-21 NBA season with Anthony Davis and LeBron James. It has been made clear that they like to surprise with some deals so do not count anything out.
