Why the Trade Benefits the Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have been in win-now mode for many years now. They are a team that continues to contain any Eastern Conference year in and year out. That will continue whether they make a deal such as this one or not given the development of Jayson Tatum.
If the Celtics were to add James Harden, their offense would be taken to the next level. Boston does not necessarily need to make this deal, but if it is on the table then why not. Tatum and Harden will create one of the best duos in the NBA.
They will also improve their three-point shooting with, not only the addition of Harden but PJ Tucker as well. He would also help on the defensive end and serve as a key small ball forward. This trade will continue to links in the roster of Boston heading into the season.
Danny Ainge is not afraid to make big moves that impact his team. That has been clear over the years and it will not change moving forward. This would be one of the most interesting deals in recent years if both sides were to pull it off.
