4. Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns had one of the best offseasons out of anybody in the league and it was solely because they acquired future Hall-of-Fame point guard Chris Paul in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder. With Paul, Devin Booker, and DeAndre Ayton, the Suns have one of the fiercest trios in the entire league and will definitely be a legit threat in the Western Conference.
This organization has gone “all-in” and is doing everything they can to try and win now, which is why JJ Redick is a player who could fit right in. Last season, the Suns ranked 16th in the league in three-point shooting and given their lack of depth off the bench, Redick is a no-brainer target.
Behind Paul and Booker in the Suns’ backcourt, there are a lot of questions about who can step up and be productive, but going out and trading for Redick answers this question immediately. Redick would be Phoenix’s sixth man off the bench and help elevate this team to being a Top-10 shooting team.
The Suns want to win now and going out and getting another high-level shooter to pair with Booker would go a long way. With both of them on the court at the same time, you never know who is going to be the one to knock down a three-pointer, as they are both high-level shooters.
You can never have too much three-point shooting in today’s NBA and with this area being one thing the Suns struggled with last season, it makes perfect sense for them to go after an established, veteran shooter like Redick from the Pelicans.
