Why the Trade Benefits the Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets have been a win-now team for years now but they finally took the next step towards the Western Conference Finals. They ran into a powerhouse in the Los Angeles Lakers but they proved that they could compete with any team. Adding veteran players could help propel them towards an NBA championship.
Blake Griffin has missed time in recent years with injuries but will enter the season healthy. He would team up with Jokic in the frontcourt and create one of the better units in the league. They are both bigs who can do it all on the floor and are difficult to defend.
Derrick Rose has proven that he could still score in the league. He is not his former-MVP self but is capable of playing big minutes. In Denver, he would not have to. Rose would be a nice backup to Murray or could even play off the ball if they were on the floor together.
This is a great trade for a win-now team like Denver. Griffin and Rose would help over the course of the season and during the NBA playoffs.
