LeBron James Has More Talent Around Him To Work With
While he started his career as a small-forward, LeBron has slowly transitioned into being a point guard and he wound up leading the league in assists last year, something he had never done before in his career.
This season though, coming off of winning a championship, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have even more weapons than they did a season ago. Dennis Schroder, Montrezl Harrell and Wesley Matthews are three new faces to the Lakers this year and will have big impacts on this team.
Both Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell were Sixth-Man of the Year Candidates last year, with Harrell ultimately winning the award, and both players averaged over 18 points per game while shooting over 40% from the floor.
Given LeBron James passing abilities and both Schroder and Harrell’s adaptiveness and creativeness to be able to score the basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers will be an even better offensive team than they were a season ago, which could lead to LeBron leading the league in assists once again.
Every season, James nearly averages a triple-double and is always one of the best players in the NBA, but his impact on every team he is on seems to get slightly overlooked stats wise. This season, LeBron James will really show why he believes he is the best player in the NBA and will make a strong case for the MVP award, even though he is on arguably the best roster he has been on in his career.
