Why The Trade Benefits The Warriors

The Warriors became one of the best franchises in the NBA in recent years. They have built a dynasty on the backs of Stephen Curry, Clay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Kevin Durant came to town and contributed in huge way as well.

They are a team that lives with the three-point shot and that has taken a huge step back with the new injury to Thompson. If the Warriors are looking to add another shooter, there are few better out there than JJ Redick.

This past season was the first year where Redick did not participate in the postseason. He has been on winning teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers. Redick is a player who can contribute to a fast-paced offense and is always ready to shoot the ball.

That would make him a nice replacement for Thompson, but would also benefit the Warriors when he returns in 2021-2022. In order to keep him around, Golden State would have to work a new deal out with him next offseason.

The Warriors will return to contention in the Western Conference this season just by having Curry on the floor. If they can land a player like Redick, that would only solidify their back-court and contender status.
