This Pelicans-Warriors trade pairs elite sharpshooter with Stephen Curry

Heading into the 2020-2021 NBA season, basketball fans were excited at the thought of having Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson back on the floor for the Golden State Warriors. That was quickly taken away on draft night and now the Warriors could look to quickly improve. A trade for New Orleans Pelicans sharpshooter JJ Redick could make a ton of sense.

During the 2020 NBA Draft, the Warriors selected James Wiseman with the second overall pick. Prior to the pick, Golden State had received news that Thompson suffered a lower leg injury. It was later revealed that it was a torn Achilles and Thompson would be out for the season once again. Obviously, that was a huge blow to the back-court of the Warriors.

Golden State was expected to be one of the top teams in the Western Conference while the Pelicans are hoping to rebuild. New Orleans sent veteran point guard Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks at the beginning of the offseason. They extended Brandon Ingram and have built a core along with Zion Williamson.

They also have other veteran players on the roster and one could be moved in this deal.

The Warriors could look to New Orleans for help in the back-court. With the way they play, there is one name that would fit in perfect with Curry and Golden State. That name would be JJ Redick.

Let’s take a look at what a potential trade between the Warriors and Pelicans for Redick could look like.
