Why The Trade Benefits The Warriors
The Warriors had their one down year last season, which landed them the second overall pick in the draft. The team was decimated by injuries led by Stephen Curry and a torn ACL from Thompson.
With the Warriors expected to get healthy, they were a team that would rise to the top of the Western Conference.
That is going to be a bit more difficult without Thompson. Golden State can look for a replacement for the upcoming season. Draymond Green and Wiseman are expected to man the front-court and give the Warriors one of the deepest units that they have had in years.
Malcolm Brogdon would take over on the perimeter as a capable three-point shooter and an excellent decision-maker and playmaker. Brogdon can rack up assists, especially within an offense like the one in Golden State.
The Warriors will continue to be one of the top teams in the league if they are able to add another playmaker in the back-court. This is a deal that would give them that playmaker on both ends of the floor to help their pursuit of another title. Stephen Curry and Brogdon would be a perfect fit.
