Can Coby White Have A Breakout Second Season?

After not missing a single game during his rookie season last year and being named to the 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie Second-Team, Coby White is in a great position to have a breakout second season with the Chicago Bulls. Last season, Tomas Satoransky and Kris Dunn started for the Chicago Bulls, but with Dunn departing for the Atlanta Hawks in the offseason, Coby White could be the next young guard to start for the Chicago Bulls.

This preseason, Coby White has been very productive and scored 27 points on 11-17 shooting in the Bulls third preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. His ability to be a playmaker with or without the ball in his hands will be extremely valuable to the Bulls this season and after shooting 35.4% from three-point range last season, expect to see White become an even better three-point shooter this season.

Coby White is set up for a successful season in Chicago because he not only has a head coach who is dependent on getting scoring from his guards, but he has the natural scoring abilities to step up and be one of the main offensive weapons on this young Bulls roster.

Whether it is in catch-and-shoot or pick-and-roll situations, Coby White has the athleticism and scoring abilities to be an impact player for the Bulls moving forward.

Even if Coby White comes off the bench to begin the season, he will definitely be in the starting rotation near the end of the year and could be the difference-maker in a few wins for Chicago.

Outside of Zach LaVine, the Chicago Bulls do not have a reliable, second-scoring option, making the “second-best player” position available. Coby White is the only player that makes sense to step up and fill this role for the Bulls.
