4 bold predictions for Detroit Pistons entering 2020-21 NBA season

Since their string of eight straight playoff appearances from 2002-09, one of their appearances resulting in an NBA title, the Detroit Pistons have made the playoffs just two times, getting swept first times. They have not won a playoff game since 2008 and while they will likely miss the playoffs again this season, they are definitely trending in the right direction as an organization.

No, Isiah Thomas and Chauncey Billups are not walking through the doors for the Pistons, but this organization was very active this offseason and made a lot of moves to set the franchise up for future success. Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee were two big additions for the Pistons this past offseason and they also had a lot of success in the draft.

Killian Hayes, Isaiah Stewart and Saddiq Bey give the Pistons three young players with a lot of potential to be their young core moving forward. All three rookies will play a big role for the Pistons this season and as they move forward.

With Blake Griffin also set to return from injury and the potential of trading Derrick Rose for more young assets to add to their core of the future, the Detroit Pistons will definitely find success this season. Griffin sat out almost the entire 2019-20 season with a lingering knee issue and with him entering the 2020-21 NBA season fully healthy, they may finally be able to get All-Star production from the 31-year old forward.

Gaining experience for their young core will be vital for the Detroit Pistons this season and will be what they look to achieve heading into the 2020-21 NBA season. Here are four bold predictions for the Pistons as they get ready to embark on the 2020-21 NBA campaign.
