Why the Trade Benefits the Golden State Warriors
On draft night, the Warriors improved their frontcourt by drafting James Wiseman but took a big hit in the backcourt. They lost one of the best shooters in the league and one-half of the splash brothers. With Stephen Curry back, the Warriors will be elite once again but it would help if they added a replacement.
Paul George created some bad publicity with his performance during the Clippers’ early exit in the postseason. This made some believe that he was on the trading block but the Clippers seemed to put it to bed by signing him to a max extension.
It would come as a surprise if the Clipper were to trade George, but having a long-term deal done removes any uncertainties for a potential trade suitor. Now, teams wouldn’t have to operate under the fear of him opting out of a player option and departing.
George and Curry would create an elite duo in the league. He would fit in well with the way the Warriors like to play. This would create a change of scenery where George could recreate his postseason reputation. The Warriors are a winning franchise and that is what George wants to be apart of.
