Why the Trade Benefits the Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks have no feeling on whether Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to re-sign or test free agency next NBA offseason. If he leaves, Milwaukee will be forced to blow up the roster and completely reshape. This deal could give them a head start.
It’s clear the Bucks need more dynamic offensive players, even if there is a sacrifice for efficiency. Jrue Holiday has a real knack for getting to the rim and adding a player like Andrew Wiggins who can do the same certainly wouldn’t hurt either.
Wiggins wouldn’t be the only intriguing part of this particular trade package. The Bucks would also land two first-round picks in this deal— setting themselves up nicely in case Antetokounmpo were to depart, but also even if he were to stay, too.
The Bucks have one year to figure out what they are going to do with their two-time NBA MVP. It will be interesting to see how it plays out over the course of the next 12 months.
