Why the Trade Would Benefit the Houston Rockets
If the Houston Rockets truly wants to rebuild, then it would benefit him greatly sending Harden away for a massive return. This is a franchise that is headed in a new direction and the overhaul has already begun.
In this trade, the Rockets would be receiving a replacement franchise player, a big man, and loads of NBA Draft capital. Jaylen Brown is a player who can be built around for the future and would immediately slot-in where Harden was in the lineup.
The Celtics would be sending some intriguing young players like Romeo Langford, Carsen Edwards, and Grant Willians to the Rockets to align with their rebuild. Houston could also use their three first-round picks in another deal or add intriguing prospects in the NBA Draft.
This is a move that a rebuilding team should make in a heartbeat. The Rockets have had plenty of chances to win with Harden and it has not happened yet. At some point, it is time to give up and rebuild the team.
