Why the Trade Benefits the Orlando Magic
Believe it or not, the Orlando Magic are loaded on the perimeter. Evan Fournier is a volume scorer along with Terrance Ross off the bench. Aaron Gordon is a versatile player who can play many positions. Markelle Fultz was used as a bench option last season and showed some promise.
The former No. 1 overall pick was a failure for the Philadelphia 76ers. He was hoping for a fresh start in Orlando but that has not been the case just yet. This is a chance for the Magic to send him away and gain some help for the 2020-21 season.
Olynyk is a veteran player with great postseason experience throughout his career. He would join a frontcourt that includes Nikola Vucevic and make them an elite unit.
The Magic are in need of help in the immediate future if they want a chance to advance in the postseason. They will need to finish higher than eighth if this is their foal. Heading into the season, this deal would be a surprise but not one that is impossible.
