Indiana Pacers
It is no secret that the Pacers are a team that could look to make a significant move at this upcoming season’s NBA trade deadline. After not making a big move this offseason via trade or in free agency, the Indiana Pacers front office looks like they are going to give this current roster one more chance to prove themselves.
The Pacers have lost in the first-round of the playoffs for five consecutive seasons and after high expectations every year, it seems like this team continually disappoints because of injuries. Victor Oladipo, Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon have all dealt with injuries over the years and the Pacers have rarely had all of their core players on the court at the same time as a result.
Victor Oladipo and Indiana did not reach an agreement on a contract extension last season and is set to be an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the 2020-21 NBA season, which is why his situation is one to watch. He could very well be on the move at the trade deadline this upcoming year if the Pacers are struggling.
While he has suffered some major injuries over the years, Victor Oladipo will still draw a high amount of attention if he is to hit the trade block. The former 2x All-Star is only 28-years old and still has room to grow as a player and reach his full potential, making him an intriguing trade target for many teams around the league.
While all the focus is on Victor Oladipo, Myles Turner is another player who has seen his name come up a lot this offseason. The 24-year old center has solidified himself as one of the best shot-blockers in the league over the last few seasons and is a highly-coveted trade target for many teams. With his ability to play on both ends of the court, Myles Turner could join any team and give them a chance to not only be a playoff team, but a championship contender.
The Indiana Pacers are a team to watch this upcoming season to see whether or not they keep their core together or rip it apart due to their lack of success.
