Why the Trade Benefits the Golden State Warriors

Otto Porter Jr. had a $28 million player option for the 2020-21 NBA season. He recently opted in which means the Chicago Bulls will not have any cap space remaining. This is the main reason why they would look to send Porter Jr. away.

The Golden State Warriors is the perfect place for Porter Jr. given his ability to shoot from deep. Last season, he missed time with a foot injury but he has been an excellent shooter throughout his career.

With Klay Thompson out of the lineup, Porter Jr. would give the Warriors another player who could run the floor and shoot from deep. Chicago has a decision to make with Porter Jr. in the coming weeks and the Warriors could be an ideal landing spot.

Heading into the season, the Warriors are still expected to be one of the top teams in the league but need to find a replacement for Thompson. This is where Porter Jr. would fit in perfectly.
