Why the Trade Benefits the Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls used the No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft on Patrick Williams, the Florida State product. He will team up with a young core in Chicago. This is a team that has been near the bottom of the Eastern Conference for years now. They need to make a deal or two in order to move up.
For the Bulls, a trade involving either Zach LaVine or Lauri Markannen would land them the biggest return. In this deal, they would acquire Wiggins. The former Kansas Jayhawk knows a thing or two about being traded.
It began when he was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2014 NBA Draft and he was immediately sent to Minnesota. Now, he would be on his way to Chicago to solidify their perimeter as the Golden State Warriors reconfigure their roster.
The Bulls are in need of good players to complement LaVine on the perimeter. Wiggins is not a big time shooter but he is an athletic player who can get to the basket. He would act as a second option at the shooting guard position along with LaVine.
