Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Jazz

Utah is a piece or two away from competing for an NBA Finals appearance. They gave the Denver Nuggets a run for their money in the first round of the playoffs. Adding a guy like Russell Westbrook could take them over the top.

Donovan Mitchell is one of the top rising superstars in the game. He is the face of the franchise and would remain in that role even with the addition of Westbrook. However, the addition of a fellow superstar would take a ton of pressure off of him.

The Jazz also still have Rudy Gobert, who is one of the top defensive big men in the league. Keeping him even with this trade would be huge.

Westbrook would be a massive upgrade over Conley for the Jazz. He would provide more speed, tenacity, and passion. Granted, Westbrook has never loved the fans in Utah, but having them on his side might change his mind.

If this trade were to be available for the Jazz to make, they should jump at the opportunity. Westbrook to Utah would make a ton of sense.
