Why the Trade Benefits the Brooklyn Nets
Despite the disappointing season due to injuries, the Brooklyn Nets were able to find out what they had on their roster. Spencer Dinwiddie was one of those players that showed his worth over the course of the season. Heading into the season, he could be moved because of his ability to run an offense as a starting point guard.
The Clippers are the perfect trade partner because of their need at the position. Beverley would be sent back to Brooklyn in this deal. He is a defensive-minded point guard who is used to coming off the bench.
Beverley could act as that veteran presence in the second unit. He was able to get more comfortable from three-point range this season. With Beverley coming off the bench, the Nets keep their depth in place while setting specific roles that players are used to.
Brooklyn is expected to contend for a championship in the upcoming season when their team is at full strength. This move would add another hard-nosed player with experience in the postseason.
