The Orlando Magic need to bolster their roster if they want to take the next step. They have a star player in Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan will complement the big well. Adding veterans will help them come postseason time.
Vucevic has emerged as a star in the week. Markelle Fultz looks like he’s finally understanding the game at the next level and Evan Fournier is a pure score at all levels. Orlando has some pieces in place but need that big name to take them to the next level. This is where DeRozan comes into play.
DeRozan is not a threat on the defensive end but is still one of the best mid-range scorers in the NBA. Let’s not forget, he adds a needed primary pick-and-roll ball handler and isolation scoring threat Orlando simply lacks, right now.
The Magic are one of the most intriguing teams in the Eastern Conference. Because of their current state, they could go in many ways and a deal like this one would make it clear that they are interested in winning and doing it soon.
