Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Pacers
Myles Turner is the longest-tenured member of the Pacers and he has been the team’s defensive anchor for years. Moving him would create a major hole in their defense. However, being able to acquire Thomas Bryant would help.
Granted, no one would know what kind of role Bryant would have in Indiana. If the Pacers acquire Bryant from the Wizards, they would have a two-big lineup once again. Perhaps they could bring him off of the bench to spell Domantas Sabonis.
Neither Troy Brown Jr. or Ish Smith would have much of a role. The Pacers are stacked at the guard positions. Pritchard could look to flip both of those players in another trade.
The biggest part of this trade would be the 2021 first-round pick. Washington’s pick should be a relatively good pick. Indiana could use that pick to add more young talent or package it in a trade.
Indiana may not want to trade Turner. But, if they do, this is the kind of trade they should look for.
