Why the Trade Benefits the Los Angeles Lakers

This is not a trade that the Los Angeles Lakers particularly need to make, but it would give them another veteran player and one who is very close to LeBron James. Carmelo Anthony proved that he has a little left in the tank and he would help the Lakers come postseason time.

Both Kuzma and Tucker are trade pieces for the Lakers given their age and high ceiling in the league. In this deal, the Lakers also get back Little and two second round picks which they could flip for another player if needed.

Los Angeles has shown that it will not accept just one championship during the James era. This is a team that wants to continue to improve to win multiple titles over the next few years.

We have seen LeBron James pair up with Dwyane Wade. Chris Paul was never able to get in the mix and now Anthony might have his chance. It would be extremely entertaining to watch two of the top three picks from the 2003 NBA draft on the same team.
