5 NBA stars who could be the next to get traded

John Wall, Jimmy Butler, Heat, Washington Wizards, Houston Rockets, NBA Rumors

John Wall, Washington Wizards

John Wall’s situation is much different than many All-Star caliber players around the league with trade rumors circulating around them. Over the last three years, John Wall has played in 73 total games and sat out the entire 2019-20 NBA season due to a ruptured Achilles back in 2018. It is unknown if John Wall will return to his All-Star form he was pre-injury since he has not played in an NBA game since December 2018.

Shams Charnia of Stadium reported a week ago that the Rockets and Wizards had discussed a trade involving Russell Westbrook and John Wall, but nothing ever stemmed from this. It seems like trade discussions have slowed down around John Wall and he may not want out of Washington after all. There have been a lot of conflicting reports around the league and John Wall is one giant question mark.

Does he want to be traded? Will he be traded? Can he still be an All-Star level talent? Can he even play a full season in the NBA after the injuries he has suffered?

These are all legit questions surrounding John Wall and all questions front offices around the league are asking themselves and the Wizards. If Washington decides to move on from John Wall, they will want to be acquiring a high-level talent in exchange to pair with All-Star Bradley Beal.

Bradley Beal is coming off his best season in his 8-year NBA career and is the player the Wizards want to build with for years to come, but he cannot do it alone. Beal averaged 30.5 points per game last season while shooting 45.5% from the floor and they still lost 47 games. They have missed the playoffs now for two straight seasons and if they do not turn things around, Bradley Beal may leave and completely ruin this Wizards franchise that needs some good news for a change.

Trading John Wall would take a lot of stress off of the Wizards’ front office because they do not know what to expect from him anymore. With the injuries he has had, he could very well go back out on the court and get injured again. Hopefully this is not the case for John Wall because all NBA fans want to see him get back out on the court and find the success he had earlier in his career, but this is a legit concern the Wizards need to take into consideration.

Trading him while he has worth and you can get something in return that is worthwhile would make sense for the Wizards organization moving forward. Not to mention, John Wall is owed over $41M this year and still has two more years on his contract, which is not ideal for Washington to hold on to.
