Let’s have some fun with this one. Thomas has been a controversial player over the last few years, but there is a chance for him to rejuvenate his career in Philadelphia. The 76ers loves their back up point guards and had a glaring need for one in the postseason.
When Ben Simmons got hurt, the Sixers had to turn to Shake Milton to run the point against the Boston Celtics. That was a recipe for disaster and that is what happened as they got swept out of the playoffs.
Thomas could come in and become a scoring threat off the bench for the 76ers. He is capable of handling the ball and is not afraid of the big moment. Most importantly, Thomas is just looking to get back in the league.
The attention might not be worth the reward in this case, but it is something to keep an eye on. Thomas signing a deal with any team is something that will gain much media attention. If he performs well, Morey would look like a genius.
