The best trade package Celtics could offer for James Harden

Why the Trade Works for the Houston Rockets

By trading away James Harden, the Houston Rockets would be put into a position where rebuilding makes the most sense. However, there is a real chance Tilman Fertitta wants his team to remain competitive.

If the Rockets do end up trading away Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards for John Wall, adding in Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart on the wings could be intriguing.

With Romeo Langford and Grant Williams included, the Rockets would have two young players with intriguing upside. Neither player has managed to receive much opportunity with the Celtics but would be able to play a lot more in Houston.

Not receiving selections in the 2020 NBA Draft would be ideal for the Rockets since they already have the No. 16 pick from the Robert Covington trade. This is a weak class and it’s better to invest in selections for future classes as opposed to doubling down on this one.
