Why the Trade Benefits the Brooklyn Nets
When there’s an opportunity to add a superstar like James Harden, you just do it. It’s really that simple. For the Brooklyn Nets who are trying to immediately contend for a championship with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, there’s just all the more reason to get it done.
There could be some warranted concerns about how cohesive a set up would be with Harden playing with not only another superstar but with two. Durant has prior experience playing with Harden and could be a great judge of that determination.
One of the key benefits the Nets would have with their supporting cast around Harden that differs from the Rockets is perimeter shooting. Both Durant and Irving are highly impactful in this department— making it easier to play with compared to Russell Westbrook.
It’s difficult to envision any team in the Eastern Conference being able to keep up with the incredible offensive firepower the Nets would have in their lineup. It could require playing through an adjustment period, but in the end, the final result is worthwhile.
