Why the Trade Benefits the Charlotte Hornets

If there is one player that is going to be dealt with this offseason, it is going to be Russell Westbrook. It is hard to imagine the Houston Rockets actually parting ways with James Harden so if the Charlotte Hornets want that superstar, they could land him at the point guard position.

The Hornets need some depth. Outside of Devonte Graham and Terry Rozier, the team relies on Malik Monk off the bench and that is about it. There would be a logjam needed to be resolved at point guard, but overall, adding Westrbook is an option well above the rest.

Tobias Harris is an underrated part of this deal. He is looked down upon in Philly because of his insane contract and lack of production. In Charlotte, there is less pressure that would work in Harris’ favor. It would also help to play alongside a guard like Westbrook.

There are a few teams in the NBA that need excitement in their lineup. The Hornets are one of those teams and this deal would get them some. An explosive player like Westbrook can get it done.
