Why the Trade Benefits the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves willbe picking No. 1 overall in the 2020 NBA Draft. They can use it to land either Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball to put on the perimeter. D’Angelo Russell is a strong player an Joel Embiid could help on both ends.

Russell and Towns are close friends but they are not the only two with a connection. Embiid spent a short period of time as Russell’s teammate in high school at Montverde Academy.

The duo fits much better on both ends of the floor. Embiid would provide rim protection and a stronger defensive presence while not sacrificing much on the offensive end. Karl-Anthony Towns is not the best defender and that is going to impact the Wolves in the long run.

One side might have to send the other a sweetener in case there are any hard feelings. It would be interesting to see both sides blow it up a bit this offseason.
