Why This Trade Makes Sense For The Nuggets

Yes, the Nuggets would be giving up quite a bit of talented young pieces, but it would be worth it. They are just a piece away from serious contention in the Western Conference. If they are going to go for it, they need to go for it now.

Chris Paul is the kind of missing piece that the Nuggets are needing. Acquiring him from the Thunder for this price would be a smart move.

Nikola Jokic is one of the top stars in the NBA. Jamal Murray rose to being one of the most lethal scorers in the league during the bubble and playoff run. Paul would bring more offensive firepower, the ability to create for teammates, and elite perimeter defense as well.

At 35 years old, Paul is starving for a championship. Joining a team like the Nuggets who are so close to making the NBA Finals would bring out the very best in him.

Denver cannot afford to sit around and wait. Their window is open with Jokic and Murray. Bringing Paul in to form a big three with their two current stars might just put them over the top and give them a real chance to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals.
