This Bulls-Warriors trade for No. 2 pick would shake up 2020 NBA Draft

Why the Trade Makes Sense for the Golden State Warriors

The prospects that sit atop the projected 2020 NBA Draft order are not so compelling for the Golden State Warriors to bypass trading down. Only having to move down a few spots makes the logistics to get something done all the more possible.

A team like the Warriors seeking to win a championship right away needs established talent more than an unproven rookie from a weak NBA Draft class. Wendell Carter Jr. already has two seasons of professional experience under his belt and would slot complete the starting lineup.

There is reason to believe that Carter Jr. would be able to take his game to another level playing alongside greater talent in a better offensive system. At the very least, he would provide a superior level of contribution than the recent options the Warriors have used at center.

There would still be plenty of intriguing options for the Warriors with the No. 4 selection in the 2020 NBA Draft. It’s likely that Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, and James Wiseman would be off the board— leaving Deni Avdija, Tyrese Haliburton, Onyeka Okongwu, and others available.
