Why the Trade Benefits the Boston Celtics

There have been other speculations floating around that may be a deal could get done with Kemba Walker and Gordon Hayward in return. The Phoenix Suns cannot allow a trade to be made without Jaylen Brown being included.

That is something that should intrigue the Celtics. It takes money to make money. This will cost them but a backcourt of Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum would immediately be one of the top in the NBA.

The Celtics could still move Hayward’s contract and Walker if they wanted. Also, they would have two first-rounders left in the 2020 NBA Draft. These could be used to trade up for another impact player, preferably a big man.

The Celtics are fine the way they are but the idea is to improve from one year to the next. Adding Booker to the roster will improve the team no matter how much they must give up. Anyone not named Tatum could be included.
