Why the Denver Nuggets Should Do It

The Denver Nuggets had an amazing season culminated by a magical run in the NBA bubble. However, the Nuggets ran into the best player in the league, and LeBron James simply wouldn’t let his team lose. 

Looking ahead, the Nuggets could build on the momentum of last year by acquiring another star in Simmons to go alongside Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. 

An acquisition of Simmons would give Denver a trio of stars that could make another run in the West. Denver might need an upgrade to keep pace with the Lakers, and Golden State should return to prominence next season as well.

Simmons is about to enter into his extension, so while Denver would have to part with Porter Jr., they could do so knowing Simmons would remain in place long term.
