The Nets may not be looking to break the bank on any free agency additions. Thankfully, none of these guys are going to be that type of signing. Without further delay, let’s dive in and look at three players Brooklyn should consider signing.
Joe Harris, Guard, Nets
Keeping Harris would be a good move for the Nets. He is an elite shooter and the Nets will need shooting around Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Harris is going to receive interest from quite a few teams, but sticking with Brooklyn would give him a fighting chance to win a championship.
Even though it isn’t imperative that they re-sign him, he should be on the radar.
Paul Millsap, Forward, Nuggets
While Millsap may not be the star forward that he once was during his days with the Atlanta Hawks, he is still a quality player. During the 2019-20 NBA season with the Denver Nuggets, Millsap ended up averaging 11.6 points per game to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Those numbers would look solid in a role with the Nets.
Brooklyn would not be pursuing Millsap to be a starter necessarily. He could come in off the bench and play against reserves for other teams. That kind of a role could help Millsap get back to playing at a very high level.
Moe Harkless, Forward, Knicks
Harkless would be another low-cost player that could play a role for the Nets coming off of the bench. He averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in a limited role split between the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers last season.
Obviously, this move would not necessarily move the needle for the Nets. However, they need to find veterans who can step in and play when needed. Harkless has always been the kind of player who can do just that.
