Why the Orlando Magic Should Do It

The Orlando Magic would have to part ways with some key players but that is to be expected if they want to trade for Russell Westbrook. The price is steep but it could be a big reward.

The cost could be their first round pick this season and two of their top contributors. Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier are key players in Orlando but at what point do they just decide to blow it up?

Most importantly, they would keep Nikola Vucevic to pair with Westbrook. This is a win-now move for the Magic. Acquiring a star of Westbrook’s caliber is not a rebuilding move.

Markelle Fultz would have a chance to continue to develop as a backup point guard behind Westbrook. James Ennis III would also stick around as a three-point threat. This might not be the direction that the Magic want to go, but there are options to think about.
