Trade Up To No. 2 In 2020 NBA Draft

This trade obviously depends on the Bulls’ evaluation of the top three prospects in next month’s draft, LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman.

At No. 4 overall, the Bulls are sitting on the outside looking in at the top prospects, barring something extremely unforeseen, such as one of Edwards, Ball or Wiseman falling to No. 4.

At No. 2 overall, the Warriors have been willing to trade down, but it remains to be seen if the Bulls can be a match.

The Bulls would have to take on the salary of Andrew Wiggins, but the Warriors won’t give the pick away simply for taking Wiggins off their payroll.

The Warriors could ask for Zach LaVine in return, and the Bulls would have to assess the risk of taking a player at No. 2 overall, plus taking on Wiggins’ contract.

But if the Bulls feel that Edwards, Ball or Wiseman is their missing piece at No. 2 overall — whom they won’t be able to select at No. 4 — this is perhaps something Chicago would consider.
