James Harden and the Houston Rockets are undergoing a transformational offseason, as the team is still in need of a new head coach, and GM Daryl Morey has stepped down.
Houston will see big changes on the sideline and in the front office, but could the Rockets see massive changes in their backcourt as well?
Recently, CBS Sports published the Rockets’ offseason preview, which, among other things, examined a trade of Harden.
The rationale is simply, and it’s modeled after Oklahoma City’s trade of Paul George to the Clippers. The Rockets don’t have many draft assets in the near future, and they could capitalize on Harden’s current value (this offseason or during the 2021 season) to recoup a large haul of picks or players.
