Why the Philadelphia 76ers Should Do it
If the Philadelphia 76ers decide to break up the core of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, this deal would give Philly a star in the making, in Tyler Herro.
Herro put himself on the map with a spectacular performance in the NBA bubble for the Miami Heat, including a stellar 37-point outing against Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Philadelphia would also acquire Iguodala, who has championship experience, Olynyk’s (presumably) expiring deal, and Nunn.
As stated in the last slide, the 76ers may demand any trade to Miami must include Adebayo. From Philly’s perspective, that would be a fair ask, but obviously without Herro.
In this deal, though, the 76ers could go all-in on a pairing of Simmons and Herro if they decide to put Embiid on the trade block. This would give Doc Rivers an exciting young guard to build around for next season and beyond.
