DeMar DeRozan, San Antonio Spurs
DeMar DeRozan quite simply doesn’t fit in San Antonio. He was always going to face unrealistic expectations as the trade return for Kawhi Leonard, and a trade could benefit both DeRozan and the Spurs.
DeRozan has a player option for this coming season worth $27 million, which he’s widely expected to exercise.
DeRozan would bring a veteran guard to a rather young Knicks backcourt. The Knicks obviously wouldn’t have to part with Barrett to acquire DeRozan, so he and Barrett could play off each other.
After the Spurs missed the playoffs for the first time in 22 years, changes are likely on the way this offseason.
