Why the Suns Should Do It
The Suns have a star (no pun intended) in Devin Booker. They need to take advantage of his early 20’s while he is there.
Booker has been the subject of trade rumors, commonly coming up in connection to Minnesota’s No. 1 overall pick. Booker’s relationship with both Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell is well documented, but instead of trading Booker, the Suns owe it to their fans to try to build around him.
Pairing Devin Booker with Paul would provide the 23 year-old with a future Hall of Fame point guard as his backcourt mate. Booker’s talent is immense and undeniable, and the knowledge that Paul would impart on Booker could send Booker’s career into the stratosphere.
In an NBA landscape where stars seem to put their team’s on the clock as far as contention is concerned, the Suns should look for any possible way to improve, showing Booker and their fans they’re serious about winning.
