This Rockets-Heat trade would send Russell Westbrook to Miami

The Miami Heat are still competing for an NBA championship this season, but it is never too early to begin looking ahead to the offseason. With a championship so close, Pat Riley will do everything he can to improve the roster even more this offseason. Could trading for Houston Rockets superstar Russell Westbrook be in the cards for the Heat?

Let’s slow this down a bit. That escalated a bit too quickly for quite a few readers to digest.

Rumors have been circulating that the Rockets could look to deal Westbrook this offseason. He paired decently with James Harden, but Mike D’Antoni is gone and Houston might look to change things up. That is where the Heat could come into play.

Obviously, the Heat are not going to trade Jimmy Butler and there is a very good chance that Bam Adebayo is untouchable as well. However, there is a deal that could land Westbrook without Miami having to deal either of those guys.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at one potential trade that could send Russell Westbrook from the Rockets to the Heat.
