2. Would The Thunder Take Al Horford?
76ers Receive: Chris Paul
Thunder Receive: Al Horford, Zhaire Smith, Matisse Thybulle, Future First-Round Pick (or Two?)
Brand gave a now 34-year old Horford a four-year, $109 million deal last offseason, and expected Brown to force a square peg (a big man most comfortable posting up or playing around the elbow) into a round hole around Embiid and Simmons. Horford struggled, as nearly 40 percent of his shot attempts came from 3-point range, and the years of commitment make him extra hard to trade.
The Thunder surely don’t want to take on long-term money, especially on an older player. A third team could come into this deal to take Horford, or perhaps Oklahoma City could flip him in a separate deal and add even more future assets.
