The Eastern Conference playoff bracket is officially set ahead of the start of the 2020 NBA playoffs. With that comes a matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers.

During the regular season, both the Celtics and 76ers faced off during three games. Philadelphia managed to come out victories in two of those showdowns. Now, they will compete at Disney World in a best of seven series.

The 76ers managing to win the season series with the Celtics is a feat that should not go overlooked. Prior to the start of this season, Boston held a 21-4 record against Philadelphia in the two team’s previous 25 head-to-head matchups (h/t Jack Noonan of Celtics Blog).

There is plenty of intrigue surrounding this particular matchup. Both franchises have a long-standing rivalry with one another that dates back to the late ’60s. In 2020, they will have an opportunity to add their imprint onto the latest entry.

With that being said, let’s take a look at five critical factors that could decide the series between the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.
