Are They The Favorites?
For the majority of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers have held that distinction as the favorites to win the NBA title. However, while they have played well before the NBA hiatus, other teams such as the Milwaukee Bucks and their rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers have more than earned their right to be seated at the table.
But did the stoppage in play allow teams to make up ground? The Lakers have two All-World athletes in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But after that, it’s a collection of players only suited to be no more than role players.
The Lakers were top 10 offensively and defensively but can they sustain that for a championship run? Many believe that the Clippers are still the team to beat out West with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George but will their team by at 100 percent by the time the playoffs begin?
The Lakers are playing not only for a title but for Kobe Bryant. While the Bucks and Clippers have given them fits this season, the Lakers are still constructed just for this moment. If health does not play a factor in Orlando, there’s no reason to believe that the Los Angeles Lakers will not walk away with the championship.
