1. Capitalize on a Viable Title Window

The Golden State Warriors are no longer an unstoppable dynasty that is a practical lock for at least an appearance in the NBA Finals. Right now, the Lakers are the best team in the Western Conference and should look to capitalize on that.

It is difficult enough to slow down a duo consisting of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Better fortifying the supporting personnel around such a dynamic duo would only amplify the impact of two of the NBA’s top players. It could also help them to stay fresh.

There isn’t a better time than now for the Lakers to think about maximizing their immediate potential since James, 35, isn’t going to get any younger. While Kyle Kuzma is a young player with solid potential, the priority certainly should be on immediate results.

Other teams in the Western Conference playoff picture are likely going to be working on adding talent. It would be advantageous for the Lakers to do the same to stay ahead of their rivals in order to maximize their chances of earning a spot in the NBA Finals
