Oklahoma City Thunder: 4 Bold Predictions for the 2018-19 NBA Season

Paul George Will Win the Defensive Player of the Year Award

There are very few perimeter defenders better than Paul George in the entire NBA. He was one of the best defenders last season and will take his defensive game to a new level to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award this year.

In 2017-18, George averaged 2.0 steals per game and was a menace for opposing teams in the passing lanes. He has always been a nightmare for offensive players one-one-one as well.

George decided to forgo potential free agency visits to re-sign a long-term deal with the Thunder. He has business in Oklahoma City that he wants to finish. Taking pride on the defensive end is something that he has always done and that will not change this year.

Expect to see a more aggressive version of George on defense and that will take him to the ultimate award that a defender can receive.
